John Innes Centre (JIC)is an independent, world-leading centre of excellence in plant and microbial science. Its mission is to carry out fundamental and strategic research, to apply knowledge of nature’s diversity to benefit agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being and to train scientists of the future. Main
research themes, strategically funded by UKRI-BBSRC, are Genes in the Environment, Plant Health (in
partnership with TSL), Molecules from Nature, and Designing Future Wheat (a cross-institute
