NRPDTP Director Appointed to UKRI-BBSRC People and Talent Strategy Advisory Panel as a Core Member

The NRPDTP Director, Professor Dave Evans, has been appointed to the UKRI-BBSRC People and Talent Strategy Advisory Panel (https://bbsrc.ukri.org/about/governance-structure/panels/skills-careers-panel/) as a Core Member from 1st April 2020. Strategy Advisory Panels develop and maintain an overview of research, training and innovation across the biosciences, in universities, research institutes, business and other stakeholder organisations, in the UK and globally.

The People and Talent Strategy Advisory Panel focusses on attracting and developing a flexible, diverse workforce for modern bioscience. It is responsible for developing and maintaining UKRI-BBSRC policies to support the supply of people trained in bioscience disciplines for careers in research and innovation and in support of a scientifically articulate workforce for the wider economy.

The panel provides advice on a range of issues, including: the talent ecosystem, postgraduate training and development, research teams and research culture, including equality, diversity and inclusion within the biosciences.

Prof Dave Evans said he “was honoured to be invited to join this important Panel that addresses and makes recommendations on issues that are at the forefront of his areas of interest”.
