NRPDTP Alumnus James Canham uses BBSRC Doctoral Career Development Fund to launch GetGenome

James Canham, a DTP alumnus, was recently awarded a Doctoral Career Development Fund (DCDF) Associate position. The DCDF was set up by the BBSRC in order to support doctoral candidates and recent graduates in the pursuit of their career goals and designed to enable recipients to pursue additional training, research and innovation that builds on any aspect of their studentship training.

James used the DCDF position to set up a charitable organisation that provides equitable access to genomics technology for early career researchers all over the world. GetGenome also provides training in the use and publication of genomics data using open science principles.
